Amazon Prime Video invites you to live great adventures during this month of August. A sports and social adventure, first, with the new series A League of Their Own which traces the courageous story of women wanting to practice their passion for baseball in the 1940s in the United States. Another team sport unleashing passions is in the spotlight through the documentary series All or Nothing: Arsenal, devoted to the football club of the British capital. Then an adventure on the other side of the world, in Thailand, awaits you in Thirteen Lives, the true and heroic story of the divers who rescued 12 children trapped in a cave. Prime Video will offer much more rhythmic adventures with two cult cinema sagas: IndianaJones and Rambo. Sylvester Stallone also stars in the Amazon original movie Samaritanwhere he plays a superhero forced to return to service.

We are curious: A League of Their Ownfrom August 12

After the Euro football and the women’s Tour de France, find inspiring sportswomen in the series A League of Their Own, from August 12. Adapted from the 1992 film with Geena Davis and Tom Hanks, this fiction follows the characters of Carson and Max, interpreted respectively by Abbi Jacobson and Chanté Adams, two women who integrate the American first league of baseball. All gathered around their passion, these athletes will have to fight against the misogyny of the 1940s to continue to practice this sport, which was then exclusively male. If this series takes up the spirit of the feature film, it addresses more in depth the customs and society of the time, especially since one of the main protagonists is African-American. The series remains quite light all the same and clings to its strong and varied characters.

We are also curious: Thirteen LivesAugust 5

Not all heroes wear capes. Especially everyday heroes. The film directed by Ron Howard (Da Vinci Code) tells the extraordinary story of the rescue of a young Thai football team. In June 2018, 12 children and their coach find themselves trapped in a cave following a rise in groundwater. This dramatic event had moved the whole world and Thailand had mobilized 90 divers, including 13 world-renowned, to rescue them. A perilous rescue that required 18 days of effort. This captivating film is based on the duo Colin Farrell (The Batman) and Viggo Mortensen (The Lord of the Rings). A thriller punctuated by the anguish of passing time and the oppression of narrow caves. Claustrophobes abstain.

We will be happy to see: IndianaJonesAugust 1st

He too explores caves but for other adventures. The most famous and courageous archaeologist, played by Harrison Ford, returns to Amazon Prime Video at the beginning of the month. In the 1980s, Steven Spielberg’s cult trilogy attracted more than 18 million French people to theaters, before making its big comeback twenty years later with a fourth opus, much less well received by the public and critics. Comfortably installed in your sofa, you will leave, well accompanied, towards the lost ark, The cursed temple, The Last Crusade and the terrible Crystal Skull Kingdom. The professor with the whip and the cardigan will sign a new return in June 2023 in a fifth opus, alongside Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal). The occasion of choose wisely your movie.
