If you want to watch content from Amazon Prime Video, you don’t necessarily have to stream it. Series and films can also be downloaded.

Like many competitors, including Netflix, Apple TV + and Disney +, Amazon Prime Video offers the option of downloading series and films. This is useful, for example, if you don’t want to strain your data volume as a commuter or if you have to struggle with internet problems at home and continuous streaming proves to be problematic. Here, users can find out how easily it works on both smartphones and tablets as well as on the PC.

Download films and series on smartphones and tablets

In order to be able to use the function on the go, users need a Fire tablet from Amazon or the Prime Video app for iOS or Android devices. In the app, consumers can first search for the film or series that interests them. Then simply tap on the relevant content and an overview page will open.

The “Download” function can be found under the “Play” button for films. In the case of series, users can download the entire season directly here. If you only want to download individual episodes, you can scroll down. Next to each episode there is another download button. Under the item “Downloads”, users can later find the content as soon as it has been downloaded.

Save content on the PC

The feature is also available to PC users. Users can download the Prime Video app for Windows 10 from Microsoft. Once logged in, the whole thing works similarly to a mobile device. If a series or a film is found, the corresponding content can be downloaded from the overview page. In the case of series, the choice between an entire season or individual episodes is again offered. Users can then find the videos on the left under “Downloads”.
