Amazon Prime Video wants you to identify content that you might like even faster. To do this, the service is eyeing Netflix a little by adopting a feature that its competitor has already been offering since the beginning of 2020: a Top 10.
In this case, it will be for Amazon to offer a ranking of the 10 most viewed content in France. As specified by Univers Freebox, Amazon remains, on the other hand, discreet (at least for the moment) on its method of classification. It is not known, for example, whether the platform is based on a daily or weekly Top.
Prime Video like Netflix
Netflix has greatly enriched its concept of rankings over time. In November, for example, the service launched a new “Top 10” site to find out how popular your favorite content is in your country and elsewhere. Netflix also took the opportunity to explain in detail what data its service is based on.

We learned, for example, that its Top 10 is updated every Tuesday thanks to the hours of viewing recorded from Monday to Sunday of the previous week.
A novelty that is not yet accessible everywhere…
Difficult to know if Amazon will communicate the terms behind its own ranking. It should be noted that Amazon is not the only one to take inspiration from Netflix in this field. MyCanal had done the same by introducing a ranking of the week in October 2021. Beyond its playful aspect, this novelty will make it possible to find interesting content more quickly in a sometimes a little cluttered Prime Video catalog.

Univers Freebox points out, however, that the addition of this Top 10 is not yet effective everywhere. The Web version of Amazon Prime Video seems to have been the first served while the box operator and Apple TV versions of the Prime application have not yet benefited from this deployment, specifies the site. We have on our side checked on Fire TV Stick and on the Prime Video application for WebOS (LG televisions, in particular)… and there too, this novelty is not yet active. Patience, therefore.
