It is an almost unimaginable wealth that this family has accumulated: Mukesh Ambani, the Indian businessman, is said to be worth 105 billion euros (as of April 2024), according to Forbes magazine. This not only makes him the wealthiest person in his home country and in Asia, but also puts him at number 9 on the list of the richest people in the world.
In the Indian metropolis of Mumbai, the family has built “Antilia”, an ultra-luxurious high-rise, the most expensive private home in the world. The top-class home has 27 floors and is said to have cost between $1 and $2 billion to build. The megatower was built from 2006 to 2010 on “Billionaire’s Row” Altamount Road, the most expensive street in Mumbai and one of the most exclusive residential areas in the world.

In addition to a private cinema with 50 seats, Antilia (which was named after the legendary island of Antillia, which is said to be located in the Atlantic Ocean and fascinated sailors in the 15th century) offers a number of glamorous amenities and design highlights. More than 37,160 square meters of living space, three helipads, a garage for up to 168 vehicles and nine elevators that take residents from the lobby to various areas of the tower are just a few of them. Of course, only the finest materials and designer furniture were used.
Private swimming pools, yoga and dance studios, fitness centers, a spa, a ballroom, numerous guest rooms and “hanging gardens” on the terraces allow Asia’s richest family to experience pure luxury and complete privacy. Apparently, according to “businessinsider.com”, Antilia even has its own snow room to cope with the hot and humid climate to escape from India from time to time.

In addition to its extravagant design, the most expensive private house in the world boasts a special safety feature: it was built by the Australian construction company so that it can withstand earthquakes of up to magnitude 8. The opulent planting on the outer facade not only makes the building look spectacular – the green plants also provide shade and keep the rooms cool. The symbols of the sun and the lotus flower run through the entire interior of the house, although each floor is designed completely differently at the special request of the large family.
In order to keep all this luxury clean, tidy and functional 24/7, the Ambani family, according to media reports, hires 600 employees – just for a single house. Ultimately, every wish of the three generations who live here under one roof should be fulfilled.
