As the second trial between Amber Heard and Johnny Deep opened on Monday, April 11, for defamation, the behavior of the actress was strongly criticized by her ex-assistant.
In a video testimony, Kate James, who worked for Amber Heard between 2012 and 2015, does not mince words.
Harassment, hysteria, lack of respect… she multiplied the damning revelations about the behavior of her former boss.
Questioned by Johnny Depp’s lawyers, she thus evoked several episodes which she had to face, drawing the portrait of a “hellish boss”, reported by the Daily Mail.
spitting, harassment: total disrespect
Among the memories shared by Kate James, she notably revealed that the actress would have spat in her face. The cause of this mistreatment: a request for a raise.
“She jumped up from her chair, put her face four inches from my face, asking me how dare I ask her for that salary. She felt that this gave her the right to spit in my face,” she explained, adding that the 50,000 dollars negotiated (around 46,000 euros) corresponded to half of her usual salary, notes the British newspaper.
Telling painful memories, she also referred to a nervous breakdown of the actress. While Kate James had to systematically collect two copies of the magazines in which Amber Heard appeared in order to store them, she said that she once left a copy lying around. A clumsiness which provoked a fit of anger on the part of the actress. “She became absolutely hysterical. Screaming, screaming, swearing” explained Kate James, describing her behavior as “blind rage”.
Inappropriate behavior far from being rare according to the former assistant, who also spoke of the harassment to which she was subjected, highlighting “abusive text messages” received “day and night”. “I think in the middle of the night, between 2 and 4 a.m., the series would start. All inconsistent. It was just someone picking on another for no apparent reason,” she said.
Medicines, drugs, alcohol
She also spoke about the sleeping pills taken by Amber Heard, the side effects of which caused the actress to have compulsive reactions. “It was like someone was taking some kind of amphetamine. Very fast movement, hyper organization, hyper tasks, “said the ex-assistant before returning to the drugs – mushrooms, ecstasy and cocaine – that Amber Heard would have told him to have taken.
And finally to evoke the attitude of the 35-year-old actress when she was intoxicated. She “became more and more bellicose and abusive” explained Kate James. A testimony that paints an unflattering portrait of the ex-wife of Johnny Depp.
No traces of injury
Again questioned by the lawyers of the 58-year-old actor, on traces of injuries, bruises, swelling or redness on the face of Amber Heard, his ex-assistant also said that “no”, no trace of bruises had been observed by her during the three years that Kate James worked for her. On the contrary, she portrayed the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ actor as “peaceful, very calm and always completely passive.”
A little earlier in the week, it was another story that Amber Heard’s lawyers gave. They spoke of the “monster” represented by Johnny Depp as soon as he took drugs and alcohol, then indulging in physical and psychological violence against his former wife.
