Amber Heard: She feared for her life

On the tenth day of the trial, Amber Heard spoke for the first time on the witness stand and confirmed the allegations of violence against Johnny Depp.

Former actor couple Johnny Depp (57, "Pirates of the Caribbean") and Amber Heard (34, "Aquaman") continue to fight in London. Even if Depp does not complain directly against his ex-wife, but against the publisher of the tabloid "The Sun". It's about an article from 2018 that claimed the actor was a "wife's thug". Depp denies this. On the tenth day of the trial, Amber Heard was on the witness stand for the first time on Monday (July 20). And she didn't keep her allegations behind the mountain.

From "king" to "monster"?

Again, Amber Heard accuses her ex-husband of violence. She even feared for her life. The 34-year-old accuses Depp of verbal and physical abuse. "Some of the incidents were so serious that I was afraid he would kill me, either deliberately or by losing control and going too far," Heard told the BBC in court.

The Texan native also stated that Depp had "a unique ability to use his charisma to convey a certain impression of reality" and "he is very good at manipulating people". So he is said to have created a third person for all his actions, whom he could blame and whom he called "the monster". He is said to have spoken about it as if it wasn't him, but someone else or personality doing all of these things.

At the beginning of their relationship, Depp was "very loving, warm and charming". She felt like she was "going out with a king". Heard's written testimony also says, "When Johnny pays attention to you, with all its intensity and darkness, it's different from anything I've ever experienced." With this darkness she seems to mean above all his threatening expression. For example, he said that their relationship was "dead or alive" and "he told me that death was the only way out of the relationship".

Furious jealousy of their co-stars?

Amber Heard also stated that her liaison only started when she was promoting "The Rum Diary". During the filming in 2009, nothing happened between them because she was in a relationship. After the shoot, Depp sent her gifts, but there was no direct contact. It was only in 2011 that she was invited to a hotel room at a promotional appointment for drinks with Depp and the director. Only the former had been waiting for them there and from that point on their romantic relationship began.

In the course of their relationship, Johnny Depp accused her of having affairs with just about every co-star. These included Eddie Redmayne, James Franco, Jim Sturgess, Kevin Costner, Liam Hemsworth, Billy-Bob Thornton, Channing Tatum and even their female colleague Kelli Garner. He even claimed that he had evidence if there was none. Depp also accused her of having affairs with stars with whom she auditioned for roles, such as Leonardo DiCaprio (45).

He is said to have used derogatory nicknames for his potential competitors. He is said to have referred to Leonardo DiCaprio as a "pumpkin head" and Channing Tatum (40) as a "potato head". From year to year, his rules became stricter when it came to nude scenes, for example, and he wanted to determine what she could and couldn't do in front of the camera. Heard also claims that her ex-husband was obsessed with "how I dressed". She finally stopped wearing sexy clothes at events: "It was simply not worth the verbal and psychological abuse."

Amber Heard also accuses her ex-husband of having "zero accountability". Seldom does someone say no to him. She tried, but it didn't go down well. The actress also said she thought she could "heal Johnny". Until the end, she wished he could get better.

Draft for marriage contract came from her

An incident from 2015 also came up on the witness stand. According to Heard, there was an argument in a hotel room in Tokyo, during which "Johnny knelt on my back and slapped me on the back of the head". Among other things, it was about a marriage contract that – according to Heard – Depp did not want, but on which his sister Christi Dembrowski (59) had insisted. The actress claimed to have worked out a draft marriage contract with a lawyer, which went to Depp's team but had never been signed. She was "never" interested in the money of the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star.
