Investing.com – AMC Theaters (NYSE:) has reportedly partnered with Bitpay to offer various cryptocurrency payment options, including the and the . AMC Theaters CEO Adam Aron said users of AMC’s iOS and Android apps across the United States could go through crypto payments to get tickets and other services.
However, the company has been accepting crypto payments for almost six months by allowing customers to purchase movie tickets and other services online using , , and .
The company’s switch to Dogecoin and Shiba Inu had been expected since the beginning of the year, when the CEO announced this new possibility. Although slightly late, AMC Theaters delivered on its promise.
US-based customers can download the latest version of AMC’s mobile app to access Dogecoin and Shiba Inu payments. The company has not disclosed what other cryptocurrencies it will accept.
Dogecoin and Shiba Inu remain very popular thanks in particular to the support of Elon Musk who has spoken about it on several occasions. Both cryptos also received positive feedback from Robinhood (NASDAQ::) CEO Vlad Tenev, who explained how Dogecoin could become the local currency of the internet.
