AMD and Qualcomm launch new chips for Wi-Fi 6 and 6E


AMD and Qualcomm have collaborated to optimize FastConnect 6900 wireless connectivity for the Ryzen Pro line of processors for business laptops. By using the 6 GHz wireless band, FastConnect can improve video conferencing, reduce latency and increase connection reliability by using multiple Wi-Fi bands. But FastConnect offers more.

IT admins can now leverage the AMD management processor and utilize FastConnect’s support for nearly three dozen of the most popular Open Standard-Based (DASH) profiles to perform remote management on commercial platforms AMD. It’s a fantastic integrated, out-of-the-box solution for businesses where hybrid working is now a big part of what IT administrators have to manage.

The first chips to offer FastConnect will be AMD Ryzen PRO 6000 Series processors, which will be found in systems such as the Lenovo ThinkPad Z Series and HP EliteBook 805 Series. Together with FastConnect, these chips deliver the power, performance and long battery life – features that business laptop users need.
