The company is finally expanding its range of RDNA 3 graphics cards. It opposes the RX 7800 XT to the RTX 4070, and the RX 7700 XT to the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB. Only, what about the prices?
At the end of the afternoon, as part of Gamescom, AMD will hold a conference. The content of the announcements remains of course at the discretion of the speakers for the moment, but as suspected for several weeks, the company will indeed unveil two new RDNA 3 graphics cards: the Radeon RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT. We already know all their specifications.
The RDNA 3 welcomes a new GPU, the Navi 32
The indiscretion comes, as often, from our colleagues from VideoCardz, which do not bother with embargoes. The specifications of these two graphics cards had been the subject of several leaks in recent days. Some came directly from brands like ASRock and PowerColor. The former company disclosed the amount of VRAM in the RX 7700 XT, while the latter listed the RX 7800 XT outright on its site. In short, if you have followed all these adventures, the following characteristics should not surprise you too much.
Already, the two graphics cards introduce a new GPU, the Navi 32. Remember that the Radeon RX 7900 XT and XTX mobilize the Navi 31 GPU, while the Radeon RX 7600 inherits the Navi 33.
Radeon RX 7800 XT: 60 compute units and 16 GB of VRAM
The Radeon RX 7800 XT uses 60 compute units, or 3,840 stream processors. For comparison, its big sister, the RX 7900 XT, has 84 compute units.
For VRAM, AMD has equipped this 16 GB solution with GDDR6 at 19.5 Gbit/s. With a 256-bit bus, this gives a memory bandwidth of 624 GB/s. Additionally, the Radeon RX 7800 XT has a TBP of 263 watts and requires two 8-pin connectors.
Radeon RX 7700 XT: 54 compute units and 12 GB of VRAM
In terms of graphics cores, the Radeon RX 7700 XT is relatively close to the RX 7800 XT. It has only 6 less computing units: 54 CUs, or 3,456 stream processors. The RX 7600 is distant with its 32 compute units. Suffice to say that there is room for a Radeon RX 7700.
In addition, the RX 7700 XT is satisfied with 12 GB of VRAM at 18 Gbits / s operated by a 192-bit bus. The memory bandwidth is thus 432 GB/s. Finally, the card consumes 245 watts and still requires a pair of 8-pin connectors.
The GeForce RTX 4070 and RTX 4060 Ti in the viewfinder
You will see it through the benchmarks below, AMD pits its RX 7800 XT against the GeForce RTX 4070, and its RX 7700 XT against the GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB.

As always, take these communications with some caution. Above all, as you know, the true judge of the peace between two graphics cards lies in their IPS/price ratio (as well as their energy efficiency).
The prices of the RX 7800 XT and RX 7700 XT were one of the two unknowns of our colleagues’ indiscretion (the other being their release date). We now have the answer: the Radeon RX 7700 XT will be available from 489 euros, the Radeon RX 7800 XT from 549 euros.
