Because there is no reason that the rumors around the graphics cards concern only the next products signed NVIDIA, AMD’s turn to pass.

In recent weeks, there has been a lot of talk about the Ada Lovelace generation being prepared at NVIDIA. It’s forgetting too quickly that AMD is also preparing to release its new graphic architecture.

Bandwidth of 864 GB/s for Navi 31

Logically called RDNA3, this new architecture should reach us during the third or fourth quarter of 2022. AMD already has three GPUs in its boxes with, at the top of the list, the Navi 31 which will equip the most powerful cards.

Contrary to previous information – which already dates back to last October – AMD seems to be turning to a 384-bit memory interface which would be associated with GDDR6 18 Gbps. In fact, we will then benefit from a bandwidth of 864 GB / s.

This is the main change mentioned by our colleagues from Videocardz while the amount of onboard memory seems set to be 24 GB and the GPU – engraved in 5 nm by TSMC – should have 12,288 stream processors.

Still 576 Gb/s on Navi 32

Alongside Navi 31, AMD is of course planning GPUs that are a little less beefy in order to have a complete range: Navi 32 with its 8,192 stream processors and Navi 33 which should only have 4,096.

Here again, it is above all at the level of the memory interface that new information reaches us. Thus, Navi 32 should have 16 GB of GDDR6 also at 18 Gbps, but on an interface of “only” 256-bit, hence a bandwidth of 576 GB/s.

Finally, Navi 33 obviously brings up the rear. It will still be supported by GDDR6 at 18 Gbps, but there is no longer any question of carrying 8 GB of memory and, above all, the interface bus would increase to 128-bit for a bandwidth of 288 GB / s .

Keep in mind that these details have not been confirmed in the least by AMD, which is refraining from commenting for the time being.
