An offensive led by two processors
Ryzen 7, four Ryzen 5 and one Ryzen 3, but not all are powered by the Zen 3 architecture.

As anticipated, AMD has just expanded its Ryzen range. In the early afternoon yesterday, the company – finally – filled in the price and availability of the AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. The firm also presented five new processors under Zen 3 and Zen 2 architecture.

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D will be available from April 20

The Ryzen 7 5800X3D is not unknown to the battalion: the firm had displayed it at CES 2022. It takes advantage of AMD V-Cache technology which triples its amount of L3 cache. This Ryzen 7 thus has 96 MB of L3 cache, while its big brother (chronologically), the Ryzen 7 5800X, is satisfied with 32 MB of L3 cache. The newcomer still has 8 cores / 16 threads but reaches a Boost frequency of 4.5 GHz, a value slightly lower than that of the Ryzen 7 5800X (4.7 GHz). The nominal thermal envelope remains at 105 W.

In fact, this L3 cache surplus allows the Ryzen 7 5800X3D to display 15% better performance in games according to AMD. We will confirm or deny this assertion shortly, our test being in progress.

Anyway, you will have the opportunity to acquire this processor from April 20 at the suggested retail price of 449 dollars. For the moment, AMD has not communicated the prices in euros.

From Ryzen 3 4100 to Ryzen 7 5700X

In addition, the company is launching new Ryzen 7, 5 and 3 references in the Ryzen 5000 and Ryzen 4000 ranges.

The Ryzen 5000 trio consists of the Ryzen 7 5700X, Ryzen 5 5600 and Ryzen 5 5500. All are under Zen 3 architecture. However, be careful with the Ryzen 5 5500, which is in fact a Cezanne APU derivative. It thus has less L3 cache (16 MB and not 32 MB). Also, it does not support PCIe 4.0, only PCIe 3.0.

It is also a trio on the Ryzen 4000 side, with the Ryzen 3 4100, Ryzen 5 4500, and Ryzen 5 4600G. The latter isn’t new, but has been an OEM preserve until now. Also, as the “G” suffix indicates, it’s an APU.

All new Ryzen 5 and Ryzen 3 processors announced today come with AMD Wraith Stealth cooling and will be available from April 4th.

AMD has compiled the specs in the table below. However, it contains a small error: the AMD Ryzen 5 4600G mobilizes the Zen 2 architecture and not Zen 3.
