AMD Radeon RTX 7000 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000: Leaks show the differences

AMD and Nvidia are working on a new graphics card generation and leaks are already revealing how the RTX 4000 should differ from the RX 7000.

  • Rumor has it that AMD and Nvidia are already working on the new graphics card generation.
  • While AMD uses chiplets, Nvidia develops more powerful chips.
  • But the performance should also be better with Nvidia’s new 5-nanometer technology.

According to rumors, AMD and Nvidia are already working on other graphics card series. But there should be big differences between AMD Radeon RX 7000 and Nvidia GeForce RTX 4000.

At least that’s what the leaker Moore’s Law Is Dead announces. AMD is supposed to use chiplets, i.e. a combination of several chips, while Nvidia relies on more powerful chips.

But in his latest tweet, the leaker explains that Nvidia is not using the proven 5-nanometer process, but is switching to the improved 4-nanometer technology.

AMD, on the other hand, is said to want to use 5 and 6 nanometer technology for the new graphics card generation.

Lower power consumption and better performance

If this leak is correct, the new Nvidia graphics card would not only consume less power, but also offer better performance.

But one detail of the Nvidia graphics cards should remain, because the company is apparently staying with PCIe 4.0, as the well-known leaker Kopite7kimi explains on Twitter.

PCIe 4.0 is the interface between the mainboard and other peripheral devices, such as your graphics card. The transfer rate of PCIe 5.0 is twice as fast as that of PCIe 4.0 connections.

Whether all these differences will ultimately be implemented is of course not certain at the moment. You will find out at the latest when the new graphics cards are released.

However, before the new graphics card generation appears, AMD will first release a more powerful new edition of the RX 6000 series.
