AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT: the price of 300 € is unfortunately confirmed

While AMD has announced an MRSP, a manufacturer’s suggested retail price, of $ 199, it looks like partner resellers aren’t ready to match that rate. According to our colleagues from the Videocardz site, the manufacturer’s next entry-level graphics card will be offered at € 299 in Europe from January 19, 2022.

As you may know, AMD has confirmed the arrival of a new model in its RX Radeon 6000 range. Just as Nvidia intends to offer an entry-level alternative with the RTX 3050, the red team will launch the next one. AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT.

As far as we know, the GPU in question will be equipped with 4 GB of GDDR6 VRAM 14 Gbps interfaced in 64-Bit, 1024 cores, 16 ray accelerators and a memory bandwidth of 112 GB / s. What to just provide for Full HD in 60 FPS, and more. Note that this will not be the most modest graphics card in the range, since AMD intends to launch the RX 6400 next March, which will offer lower performance.

Dealers ignore AMD’s MRSP for RX 6500 XT

During the official announcement of the GPU, AMD clarified its MRSP, the manufacturer’s suggested retail price: $ 199. This is good news at first glance for all players looking to change their graphics card without leaving their savings. However, the reality will be quite different, as affirmed by our colleagues from the specialized site Videocardz.

Indeed, manufacturers do not seem ready to align with the recommended price of AMD, far from it. If a price of 379 € was mentioned previously, the GPU will finally be offered to 299 € tax incl.. Indeed, the RX 6500 XT appeared for pre-order at several German dealers at this sum. Regarding the release date, dealers across the Rhine announce the date of January 19, 2022. Note that this price of 300 € concerns only the DUAL model, the TUF Gaming version being displayed at 334 €.

In other words, we are already at a price increase of around 50% compared to the MRSP given by AMD. As a reminder, AMD unveiled its new Ryzen 6000 Mobile laptop processors at CES 2022. Using the optimized Zen3 + architecture, this new series of SoCs is the first to be engraved in 6 nm.
