A reliable source predicts the imminent arrival of at least three new cards from AMD: the Radeon RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT and 6650 XT. Still based on the RDNA 2 architecture, but a little more powerful than the current models, they would allow AMD to strengthen its GPU offer against Intel and Nvidia.

The info comes straight from the ChipHell computer forum, on which Enthusiast Citizen, a leaker judged ” very reliable” by WCCFTech , predicted on March 8 the April launch of at least three new desktop PC graphics cards from AMD. In this case, it would be the Radeon RX 6950 XT, 6750 XT and 6650 XT which would complete the brand’s current offer by offering more power than the existing models… without however switching to a new architecture. These “refreshed” models will therefore always be powered by the RDNA 2 design, which is not surprising: the RDNA 3 architecture is not expected from AMD before the end of the year.
In parallel, WCCFTechalso mentions the upcoming arrival of a Radeon RX 6500 (not XT). This card would be intended for the general public and would use the same bases as the RX 6400, which had only been launched with OEM manufacturers.
Three new cards from AMD… but a slight increase in performance?
“Several new cards for April 20 or 21: the RX 6950XT, RX 6750XT, RX 6650XT. They will be a bit more expensive than the current ‘non-50’ versions. These three cards have increased to 18 Gb / s, and the performance has also been slightly improved (…)“, we read in particular from Enthusiast Citizen on ChipHell.
Behind this small increase in power would hide a light upgrade of the Navi 21 GPUs (currently used for the Radeon RX 6900 XT, 6800 XT and 6800), 22 (used for the RX 6700 XT) and 23 (which powers the instant the RX 6600 XT and 6600).
According toWCCFTech, the increase from 16 Gb/s to 18 Gb/s on the GDDR6 memory of these new models could lead to a performance increase ranging from 2 to 5%. AMD would however work to also increase the frequency of the GPUs for these new cards, in particular to allow the Radeon RX 6950 XT to pass the 2.5 GHz bar. As a result, on the other hand, a slightly higher TGP should also be expected.
AMD would not, however, be heading for a launch with great fanfare for this new trio. These models should fit quite discreetly into AMD’s offer next month to allow the brand to better compete with Intel’s ARC Alchemist chips. The Radeon RX 6950 XT, if confirmed, will serve to titillate as much as possible the new RTX 3090 Ti from Nvidia, expected at the end of March.
