AMD would release a new mid-range Radeon in January to shake up Nvidia

AMD would have the firm intention of boosting its offering in the mid-range against the RTX 4060. To do this, the firm would launch next January a new Radeon RX 7600 XT designed to fit into its catalog, at around 300 dollars.

Mentioned by rumor for several months, the Radeon RX 7600 XT would indeed be relevant. We learn from WCCFTech that the card could become very real in about a month, with a launch at the end of January. It would arrive in the AMD catalog only in custom versions, and at around 300 dollars across the Atlantic. Let’s expect around 350 to 400 euros including tax in France.

As a reminder, the Radeon RX 7600 XT would be sold between the current RX 7600 and RX 7700XT, already offered by AMD. We’ve been hearing about it since September, following the appearance of this model in certain online registers. More recently, its reference was seen at a graphics card manufacturer mainly located in Asia. However, we do not know at this stage whether AMD will match this Radeon RX 7600 XT with the new Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 also mentioned by rumors in recent months.

An additional RDNA 3 graphics card in early 2024

Note that if the Radeon RX 7700 and RX 7800 do not see the light of day, the Radeon RX 7600 XT which interests us today would be the last card under RDNA 3 architecture to be launched before the transition to lineup RDNA 4, expected later in 2024.

In any case, this Radeon RX 7600 XT would be equipped with 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM – twice as much as the classic RX 7600. For the moment, we do not yet have definitive details regarding the onboard GPU, but there is a chance that AMD will be satisfied with the Navi 33 chip used for the RX 7600. This GPU could however be clocked at a higher frequency. Another option: the use of a Navi 32 chip, more powerful, but by castrating it in order to gain in number of cores compared to the Navi 33 GPU. In all cases, the RX 7600 XT would be mainly intended for gaming at 1080p .

As a reminder, other announcements should take place in the field of affordable graphics cards, but this time from Nvidia. In addition to the launch of the RTX 4060 Ti 16 GB, and the return to production of the RTX 3060, Nvidia must indeed launch a 6 GB version of its RTX 3050, expected below the $200 mark, as a solution to little price.
