(CercleFinance.com) – American Airlines announces the extension of its strategic alliance with Qatar Airways through a new codeshare agreement, allowing American Airlines customers to book Qatar Airways flights via Doha to and from 16 new countries.
Travelers will then be able to book trips beyond Qatar to their final destinations in Ethiopia, Indonesia, Jordan, Kenya, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Pakistan, Seychelles, Singapore, Sri Lanka, in Tanzania, Thailand, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The expanded codeshare comes as American Airlines launches a new route on June 4 connecting New York’s John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK) to Doha’s Hamad International Airport (DOH).
This new route makes American Airlines the only US airline to serve the Gulf region via connections through Doha with Qatar Airways.
