With “American Horror Story”, Brad Falchuk (50) and Ryan Murphy (55) created one of the most original genre series in 2011. Each season is self-contained and tells a new story. Season 10 started in the USA on August 25th. While we still have to wait here, Disney + is bringing the “American Horror Stories” offshoot, which works according to the most classic horror series format: as an anthology, to bridge the gap.

From killer Santa Claus to demon atrocities
In seven episodes she reveals six Schreckmümpfeli. The first “Rubber (Wo) man” is a double episode and an innovative contribution to the haunted house topic, which falls apart completely in the last third. “Drive In” is an appealing meta horror variant, “The Naughty List” presents Danny Trejo (77) as a killer Santa Claus rather silly, and “Ba’al” pleasantly combines maternity fears with demon horror.
The highlight is the sixth episode “Feral”, a lively forest monster story with a nice nasty ending. “Game Over” finally returns to the haunted house of the double episode. So “American Horror Stories” is not outstanding, but neat – and the second season is already in preparation.
