Amiaz Habtu: Is Nico Rosberg a win for "The Lion's Den"?

"The Lion's Den" Corona had to interrupt the filming due to certain circumstances. Moderator Amiaz Habtu reveals what happened afterwards.

Filming for the new season of the successful start-up show "Die Höhle der Löwen" (VOX) had to be interrupted for around three weeks in March due to the corona pandemic. "It was a very strange feeling to just stop," says DHDL moderator Amiaz Habtu (42, "Hip-Hop") in an interview with spot on news, adding: "But I was happy when the call came and we – of course under the strictest hygiene and safety precautions – were able to finish this new season. "

Habtu had to accept another restriction when filming: "Unfortunately, I was no longer able to congratulate startups on the successful deal that I have always done and could spontaneously allow," explains Habtu. Nevertheless, the alternative was "very cordial and implemented accordingly".

"I miss Frankie very much!"

In the new season Frank Thelen (44) will no longer be part of the investor team around Judith Williams (48), Dagmar Wöhrl (65), Ralf Dümmel (53), Georg Kofler (62), Carsten Maschmeyer (60) and Nils Glagau (44). "I miss Frankie very much! We have known each other since the first season of 2014," says the moderator about saying goodbye to the long-standing TV lion. "I understand his decision, but I will miss his humorous and entertaining manner. Frankie, if you read this: I love you," Habtu jokes.

How is Nico Rosberg doing?

His successor is the former Formula 1 racing driver Nico Rosberg (34): "I am really impressed with what he has done since his World Cup title in 2016. Nico is cool and knows exactly what he wants", says Habtu. What are the effects of the new arrival in the lion cosmos? "The dynamic among the lions has remained. And that's exactly why I love 'The Lion's Den'," says the moderator.

In addition to the new deal-maker, new startups and ideas are waiting for the viewers in season eight – "but there will be a lot that you already know from the cave. I think that's very important, well-tried, that the nation has there celebrating outside since 2014. I celebrate every year, "says Habtu.

The new episodes of the start-up show start on August 31.
