Amiens: a young man stabbed to death, a suspect imprisoned


The two men were Tunisians in an irregular situation in France, according to the prosecution.

A 25-year-old homeless man suspected of having killed another 23-year-old homeless man with a knife in Amiens has been indicted for murder and imprisoned, said the Amiens prosecutor’s office quoted by the AFP.

A homeless individual was then arrested and placed in police custody, the prosecution continued. The man, “unknown to police“, was indicted and imprisoned on Saturday.

According to the first elements of the investigation, entrusted to the departmental security, it would be a conflict around a mobile phone. The killed man allegedly took the suspect’s phone without wanting to return it to him, the prosecution said on Sunday, adding that the two men were Tunisians in an irregular situation in France.
