Amiens: two women and a child found dead

Firefighters made a macabre discovery this Friday, April 15. In an apartment located in Amiens (Somme), the corpses of two young women and a toddler were found.

The three victims were discovered by firefighters in Amiens around noon, following a worried call from a relative who had no news of the child and the two women, unable to reach them by telephone. After using the windows to access the home of one of the victims (born in 1993), located at 82 rue Maberly, the emergency services fell on the corpses of three people from the same family.

Several investigators from Creil and Lille went to the scene to investigate and blocked the street, even preventing residents from accessing their homes for much of the afternoon. A van and a car parked outside the home were thoroughly searched.

Autopsies performed from Saturday April 16

Alexandre de Bosschère, public prosecutor, said the victims died a “violent death”. “A criminal investigation is open. The judicial police are seized,” he told AFP, adding that the causes of death have not yet been established.

According to a source close to the investigation, there is a chance that the crime was committed with a knife: “Two knives possibly bearing traces of blood were discovered. Other traces of blood near one of the bodies were visible”, testifies the source to the Courrier picard, who affirms that autopsies will be carried out from Saturday April 16.

A “rather quiet” neighborhood according to the inhabitants

The companion of the victim found dead in his apartment has not yet been able to be questioned. The man born in 1973 is hospitalized in “serious” condition according to the prosecution, following a road accident which occurred on Thursday April 14.

The residents are in shock, horrified by this unprecedented discovery in this quiet neighborhood: “I left my accommodation this morning and I didn’t realize anything. There are quite a few tenants here, but in general it was pretty quiet. There have never been any major problems,” a young man told the regional newspaper.
