Amira Pocher
Your start in Germany was anything but easy
Amira Pocher reports for the first time about her first months after moving to Germany. And reveals how difficult this time really was for her.
Amira Pocher (28) always seems to be in a good mood and has at least as often a brisk saying in store as her husband, Oliver Pocher (43). But the mother of two is also ruthlessly honest – and tells in her podcast “Hey Amira” about a particularly difficult time in her life.
The first time in Germany was not easy for Amira Pocher
At the age of 22, the native Austrian moved to Düsseldorf alone. Where she was surrounded by many friends in her home country, there was nobody in Germany. “I sat there alone every day,” she says. And financially, too, things looked anything but rosy: “I lived in a room measuring 18 square meters, with a hotplate and no oven.”
And remembers that for most of her life she “always had at least two jobs” at the same time to make ends meet. But only a few years later, the now 28-year-old can proudly look back on her own small family and a successful career.
