Life as a patchwork family also means having to say goodbye to each other more often than Amira Pocher would like. In her podcast, the presenter now reports on the pain of separation from her sons.

Amira Pocher, 31, was not there this year when OliverPocher, 46, celebrated his birthday on February 18, 2024. On Dad’s special day, the couple’s sons were of course at home with Olli. And as Amira reports in her podcast “Liebes Leben”, which is available exclusively via Podimo, the father of five then quickly took his two youngest children with him to Miami. Pocher’s first ex-wife Alessandra Meyer-Wölden, 40, lives there with their children. For Amira herself this means saying goodbye to her sons – even if only permanently.

Amira Pocher “doesn’t want to get in the way” of dad Olli

In a conversation with her brother Hima, Amira teases: “Yesterday you really missed something, I really played the dying swan.” Her sons are in Miami with Papa Pocher for a week – seven days of separation is too much for Amira. Saying goodbye was “the hardest thing I’ve had to do in a long time,” admits the presenter, visibly touched. Even in the podcast it becomes clear that the mother of two does not treat the week-long separation from her children lightly. “I cried as if I had to give up my children forever,” Amira is quoted by “Bunte”.

Anyone who has followed the 31-year-old’s Instagram account in the past few weeks knows: Amira herself spent a long vacation in Cape Town in January. At that time there was no trace of the pain of separation because: “There they were here – in their house and in their environment.” This time it’s her kids themselves who are going on a big trip. And “thoughts and fears about what could happen arise” for mom Amira. She bravely emphasizes: “But the last thing I want to do is get in daddy’s way. That’s anything but easy, but I know they’ll have a great time.” And when the week is over, Amira can finally hug her sons again.
