(Boursier.com) — Amoeba informs that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) approves the use of the amoeba Willaertia magna C2c Maky as a biocidal active substance in cooling systems.

Following the favorable pre-decision of the EPA and the public consultation required for any new active substance, completed on December 3, 2022, the amoeba Willaertia magna C2c Maky and the BIOMEBA products containing it are now authorized in the territory of the States United for biocidal use in closed cooling systems, for microbial sludge (bioslime) control, microorganism induced corrosion control and general microbial flora control.

In addition, to pursue the company’s strategic alignment, Amoéba has initiated the withdrawal of the biocidal active substance application in Europe, similar to what was done in Canada (see Press Release of October 19, 2022 ).
