Amoéba: the US EPA is about to approve the lysate for biocontrol solution















(Boursier.com) — Amoeba informs that the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US EPA) has issued a favorable pre-decision following the evaluation of the application dossier for authorization of Lysate of Willaertia magna C2c Maky as an active biocontrol substance (biopesticide ) can be used in agriculture.

The EPA has concluded that Willaertia magna C2c Maky lysate has a low toxicity profile to human health and the environment, and that its mode of action contributes to its appeal as a viable alternative to conventional pesticides, which which makes it a valuable addition to the panel of pesticides”.

Therefore, the EPA proposes to grant unconditional registration of Willaertia magna C2c Maky Lysate as a new active ingredient in food and non-food plant protection use. The US EPA is also proposing a maximum residue limit and pre-harvest interval exemption for Willaertia magna C2c Maky Lysate when the products are applied in accordance with use instructions and good agricultural practices.

Given the final administrative steps necessary for the US EPA to finalize the procedure, the issuance of the authorization is expected no later than the end of 2022.

Formulations (products) containing Willaertia magna C2c Maky Lysate will be submitted to the EPA for authorization in 2023, with marketing authorization expected in 2024.
