In the shoes of Alex or Anna, thirty-something who has just lost his parents and has traveled from the United States to find his grandparents in the heart of Finnish nature, the player will be transported to a world half- path between Norse mythology and the memories of these holidays spent with the family. In the heart of these forests, far from any society, the player will have to learn to survive but also to understand the supernatural creatures that haunt these places, while keeping the hope of finding his missing family.
Besides the usual mechanics like crafting, the key to survival among the trolls would lie in the development of three magical attributes: Sisu (gut), Väki (magic) and Lykky (luck). You will have to learn how these ancient traits affect and intertwine with the character’s attributes and with everything else in the game (environments, player actions, natural resources, creatures).
Despite a rather peaceful animist atmosphere, the fight will still be present thanks to the weapons that we will have made ourselves (knives, axes, bows, spears) and which will also be necessary for hunting. Loneliness will not be inevitable since the story will be playable in cooperation up to 4 players. In the great tradition of survival games, Among the Trolls will debut this summer on Steam in Early Access.
