During the Game Awards 2021, InnerSloth announced a virtual reality version ofAmong Us, its successful multiplayer game. A portage then expected on Meta Quest 2, SteamVR And PlayStation VR for PS4, but this week, the developers reveal… Among Us VR for PlayStation VR 2.
If the title is well released on Meta Quest 2 And SteamVR, the version PSVR first of the name is still waiting…but you can forget about it. InnerSloth announces that it is canceled and will not see the light of day, we will have to settle for Among Us VR to PlayStation VR 2, and therefore PS5. Form your team and dive into the VR version of this multiplayer social deduction game, a faithful adaptation of the much-loved international phenomenon by Innersloth: Among Us. In this game designed for 4 to 10 players, you will have to carry out various tasks and ( hopefully) work as a team on not just one but TWO maps, The Skeld II and Polus Point. But beware! One or more members of your crew will be imposters determined to sabotage the ship and kill everyone… unless it’s you? In this case, don’t get exposed!
Besides the Among Us gameplay that so many of you loved with its missions, sabotages, air vents and emergency meetings, Among Us VR also features new tasks designed exclusively for the VR game and its new perspective. You will be able to discover many new features revisited for VR, including 3D cosmetic objects (free or paid DLC headgear), proximity voice chat, accessibility and comfort settings, security tools and in-game moderation, not to mention tailor-made lobby settings (the gameplay combinations are full of possibilities).
Of course, it’s hard not to mention our maps… Among Us VR now offers two maps in which PS VR2 players will be able to evolve, plot and carry out their missions. The Skeld II, our first map, is inspired by The Skeld map from the original game. The virtual rooms will remind you of the previous version, but keep your eyes peeled, because deception and malice don’t have the same impact in VR… Do you really know the intentions of the person following you?
Polus Point is our newest map. Although it is inspired by the Polus card from Among Us, it is not a faithful adaptation. This is indeed a new card that is as majestic as it is chilling. Look at all those donut wrappers. Polus Point features 50% more missions, nine new rooms filled with “delicious” objects and new animations during executions and ejections. You will love the “spicy” surprises on the menu.
Take a deep breath (that is, if you find any parts with oxygen) and stay tuned so you don’t miss anything from the PS VR2 version. And above all, doubt everything and everyone.
