Led by Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Robert De Niro, Chris Rock or even Rami Malek, the feature film tells the story of three close friends (Bale, Robbie and Washington) who find themselves at the center of the one of the most secret and shocking intrigues in American history.
The film marks Christian Bale’s third collaboration with David O. Russell, after American Bluff and Fighter, which won him the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2011. The filmmaker knows how serious his favorite actor is.
However, certain scenes in Amsterdam were complicated to shoot for Christian Bale. The reason ? Chris Rock. The actor and comedian couldn’t help cracking jokes at which Bale laughed out loud.

In an interview with the American site IndieWire, the interpreter of Batman explains: “I remember Chris Rock’s first day, I was excited to meet him, I’m a big fan of his standup.
But Chris is so funny that I couldn’t act anymore because I kept laughing at his jokes. So I had to ask him to stop.
I said, “Dude, I love talking to you, and we have mutual friends, but I can’t keep doing that on this set. Because David didn’t ask me to do this movie for me. look snicker He wants me to be Burt, and I forget how to be Burt.‘”
Need for isolation
The actor then admits to needing to be able to isolate himself in order to stay focused on the creation of his characters. He told the media as follows:I often meet incredible people, but I have to isolate myself. ‘Cause if I know the person in front of me too well, I just can’t believe what I’m doing in the scene“.
