Amusement parks: This is how it works with the mask in the roller coaster

The first change comes earlier than expected for visitors to Legoland in Günzburg. An employee checks the tickets of the car occupants at the still closed barrier in front of the parking lot. Because the amusement park, which started the season on May 30, limited the visitor capacity to 25 percent of the actual occupancy due to the corona pandemic – a visit is only possible with a prior day's reservation, the tickets must be bought online.

"Basically, the pre-reservation system is very well received, since the guest knows that he has his place safely and the maximum 25 percent set is spread over an extensive area of 16 hectares," says Legoland Germany at the request of the news agency spot on news. "Of course, some guests regret that this removes the spontaneity that would otherwise enliven the amusement park business. But due to the current situation, visitors accept this restriction, which applies in many areas. There will still be space on every day in the coming time but still like the weather and hope that they will get a spot spontaneously. "

Short waiting times

The weather is right for the start of the season and instead of waiting with hundreds of families in front of the entrance, the first guests can go to the area early. Visitors can actually avoid each other because of the limited number of visitors. The waiting times in front of the popular rides are also very limited. Markings on the floor help to keep the safety distance everywhere when queuing. The hands of all the attractions are disinfected in front of the park staff.

And of course, wearing a nose and throat protector is also mandatory in the amusement park, both for guests aged six and over, as well as for employees who make sure that the masks are worn in the waiting areas, indoors and in driving attractions. "Mask!" Shouts are now as much a part of it as the hilarious screams of the people in the roller coaster. Where water is involved, Legoland issues disposable masks. Roller coaster fans do not have to fear that the masks will interfere. Ordinary mouth and nose protection can also take fast rides.

Empty rows in the roller coaster

Visitors still have to do without a few highlights of the park, such as the mirror labyrinth: "In Legoland, about 75 percent of the attractions are open, some had to remain closed due to hygiene measures," it says. For attractions where there is space for a family, "the family stays together and it is not filled up with individuals. In attractions with several rows of seats, it can also happen that a row remains free, or if someone is in a 'two-person gondola' sitting alone is not filled up with a stranger here either. Each attraction has its specific measures, which are explained to the guest by our employees ".

Since the number of visitors in the large shop in the entrance area is also limited, shopping should not be postponed until the time before the park closes, here the waiting time can be longer.

"The visitors are understanding"

Buy day-dated tickets online in advance, make sure you wear a mask, keep your distance, disinfect your hands – these rules also apply in other German amusement parks such as Phantasialand, Heide Park, Europa-Park or Movie Park Germany. In Europa-Park, "the visitor limit is around 10,000 guests a day," explains the amusement park in Rust. "The rush to our ticket system was enormous in the first few days. Visitors appreciate the online ticket because it guarantees secure entry to Europa-Park. We are booked very well, but it is still there for almost every day Tickets available. "

"All rides are in operation," it says. "We point out the distance control digitally and analogously as well as via markings and additional employees." In Europa-Park, too, one is "very satisfied" with the first few days – "the visitors are understanding and act in accordance with the measures in force".
