an absolutely cult free game, hurry up!

Notice to PC gamers. A new free Steam game is available, and it can be kept for life. It is a title that marked the history of video games.

The weekend starts off on a great note for PC gamers. If they thought that Steam hadn’t spoiled them enough with its three free playable games, here’s a video game monument that can be picked up for free. We’re talking about a title that will be kept for life and it’s not just any title.

A cult free Steam game and great gifts

Old age approaching: Half Life is celebrating its 25th anniversary. And to celebrate this symbolic anniversary of its cult game, Valve didn’t do things by halves. What will interest many players is that the game is free on Steam until November 20, 2023 at 7 p.m., French time. Remember that once added to your library, it will stay there for life, unlike the three free trial games this weekend.

If you haven’t already fallen for him, it’s better to hurry before you forget to get your hands on this video game monument. When it was released in 1998, Half Life took absolutely everyone by surprise, thanks to its concept, its story, its gameplay and especially its technological showcase. 25 years later, players are desperately hoping for a third opus, they will have had a VR episode instead with Half Life Alix. But to mark this 25th anniversary, Valve is giving its fans another gift. A game update allows Half Life Uplink to be played for free. This mini-campaign was originally a bonus offered on disc in certain magazines and for the purchase of specific equipment such as sound cards. Now it is available to everyone via Steam.

Added to this is restored content, such as old multiplayer maps and skins exclusive to the time, but also new features including four online maps created specifically for the occasion, as well as a global update correcting bugs and improving gameplay. And as if that wasn’t enough, this ultimate version of Half Life is now compatible with the Steam Deck, notably thanks to an update of the graphics settings. Finally, the most curious will be able to discover the genesis of the game through a one-hour documentary retracing its creation. Suffice it to say that Valve didn’t do things by halves. And remember that all this is free on Steam until November 20, it would be stupid not to take advantage of it.
