While two people were taken in critical condition to the Bellvitge (Barcelona) and Joan XXIII University (Tarragona) hospitals, three others were admitted in less serious condition to hospitals in Santa Tecla, Tarragona, and Reus. Among the two individuals seriously injured in this accident, there are adults. One of the two people would have head trauma. An emergency protocol was triggered following the incident. In a press release, PortAventura World said it wanted to help the injured. The attraction was closed as an investigation was opened to shed light on the whole affair.
