An actor blunders and announces a new Marvel!

Patton Oswalt, who voices Pip the troll in the post-credit scene of Chloé Zhao’s film “The Eternals”, announced a sequel to the feature film during a television broadcast.

Patton Oswalt has obviously taken the example of the blunderer Tom Holland … Asked during the show Today, the comedian let slip that Marvel will produce a sequel to Chloé Zhao’s film, The Eternals and that the director will return behind the camera.

Patton Oswald, who voices Pip the troll in the post-credits scene of the first game (alongside Starfox played by Harry Styles) said: “They announced that there will be a sequel to Eternals. Chloé Zhao will direct it. So hopefully there will be more Starfox and Pip adventures.“.

The house of ideas had not yet announced anything and the continuation of the film does not appear on the roadmaps of the different phases of the MCU.

Based on the Marvel comics by Jack Kirby, The Eternals features a new team of superheroes.

Releasing in our theaters in November 2021, Chloé Zhao’s film history spans thousands of years. Since the dawn of mankind, the Eternals, a group of heroes from the farthest reaches of the universe, have protected Earth. When the Deviants, monstrous creatures long thought extinct, mysteriously reappear, the Eternals are once again forced to come together to defend humanity…

Led by Richard Madden, Gemma Chan, Kumail Nanjiani, Lauren Ridloff, Brian Tyree Henry, Salma Hayek, Lia McHugh, Don Lee, Barry Keoghan, Angelina Jolie and Kit Harington, the film was released post-pandemic and fell short of expectations from the studio since it only recorded $402 million internationally.

If the project is done well, the film should not be released before November 2025, the end of Phase 6 of the MCU.

However, the character of Dane Whitman, embodied on screen by Kit Harrington, could appear in other Marvel films since we learn during the post-credits scene of the Eternals that the latter is the holder of the sword of ebony, the weapon of the Dark Knight.

In the comics, the latter comes to the aid of the Avengers to fight Kang the Conqueror (Jonathan Majors). A fight that should take place in 2025 in the films Avengers: The Kang Dynasty (April 2025) and Avengers: Secret Wars, announced on November 5, 2025.
