An American astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts return to Earth together

March 30 (Reuters) – A U.S. astronaut and two Russian cosmonauts landed in central Kazakhstan on Wednesday after leaving the International Space Station (ISS) aboard the same capsule, despite antagonism between Moscow and Washington over the ‘Ukraine.

The capsule carried NASA astronaut Mark Vande Hei, who spent 355 consecutive days in orbit, a record for an American, and Russians Anton Chkaplerov and Piotr Doubrov.

The latter left for the ISS at the same time as Mark Vande Hei last April and Anton Chkaplerov joined them in October.
