an announcement that totally enrages players

We were finally able to attend a presentation of Hellblade 2, the opportunity to learn more about this highly anticipated game. Unfortunately, there was not only good news.

Hellblade 2 is a game highly anticipated by many players, there is no doubt about it. After a brilliant first episode and the current enthusiasm for the Viking universe, many fans are impatient to discover it. Thus, the presentation of the Xbox Developer Direct was an excellent opportunity to satisfy many of them, in particular thanks to the gameplay and the explanations provided by the developers. However, there were also a few unpleasant surprises in the mix, enough to frustrate more than one person.

Hellblade 2 angers some players

Among the bad news, during the Xbox conference, we unfortunately learned that Hellblade 2 would only offer a digital edition at 49.99 euros. In addition, we had confirmation that the game would have a lifespan of only 7 to 8 hours. While this last bit of information isn’t necessarily a problem in itself, many players regret not having the opportunity to enjoy a longer adventure.

The absence of a physical edition disappoints many people, and on social networks, many comments express their incomprehension regarding this marketing choice. Especially when we know that the first Hellblade game finally benefited from a complete physical version, although this was released later. It is therefore not excluded that a surprise physical edition could see the light of day in the coming months, perhaps accompanied by a few additional surprises to revive enthusiasm for the game and stimulate sales. Why not ?

A title that still makes you dream

Despite this bad news which somewhat taints the enthusiasm, the hype around the title of Ninja Theory remains very high. In addition to the game’s snippets generating a lot of interest, we also got confirmation of the official release date, set for May 21, 2024. The developers also discussed the work being done on the game’s atmosphere, ranging from settings to music, an essential element for Hellblade 2. Part of the Ninja Theory development team traveled to Iceland to capture the mood of the landscape and capture its very essence. A lot of work has also been done on motion capture in order to bring even more realism to the movements and animations of the characters, particularly during combat. At this level, the game promises to be more brutal and visceral. An entire program.

In summary, the quality seems to be there and overall, everyone is still eager to get their hands on it. Even if, remember, it is an Xbox/PC exclusive.
