Work when and where you want, be financially independent and not have to deal with an annoying boss: Apps are the job market of the modern age. In Europe alone, over 25 million people get their mini-jobs via gig economy platforms such as Uber, Deliveroo, Upwork or Fiverr. This number could almost double within the next three years. The tech companies promise a lot, but in reality deliver little. On the contrary, they often deliberately target the weakest in society and take advantage of their plight.
