To celebrate the 15th anniversary of the release of Assassin’s Creed 1, a remake of this first opus could soon arrive, to the delight of fans.
Assassin’s Creed is an iconic franchise that features 12 core games, countless spin-offs and remaster collections, and a feature film. All these elements make this license part of one of the most outstanding names in the video game industry.
The most recent title, AC Valhalla, was particularly warmly received, but it feels like recent games are more combat-focused, whereas earlier games were purely about the stealthy, undetectable assassin role.
But according to a new rumor, fans will soon be able to find this aspect of the game since a remake of Assassin’s Creed 1 seems to be in development.
Even though Ezio has become the most popular Assassin, Altair still holds a special place in the hearts of fans.
An Assassin’s Creed 1 remake in the works?
The first Assassin’s Creed game remains to this day, a seminal opus that had a huge influence on open-world gaming.
And recently, the license’s 15th anniversary live unveiled new DLC for Valhalla, a new 60FPS patch for AC Origins, and also announced that a special event will be held in September with new information on Assassin’s Creed.
So that raised expectation levels with news about the highly anticipated AC: Infinity.
But Ubisoft could also present a remaster of the original game which has also been discussed for some time among fans.
And the rumors of this remaster resurfaced after a tweet from Ikraik_originalwhich posted comparison images of screenshots taken during the anniversary live that showcase the visual improvements made to the first installment.

As you can see, the images are identical, with the obvious exception that the new images are noticeably neater, cleaner, and noticeably more vibrant than the watered down, dull palette of the original release.
While many fans were directly enthusiastic about the idea of replaying this first opus, others are much more skeptical: “Man, it’s a pre-recorded trailer that’s been graded differently.”
At this point it is difficult to determine if a remaster of the first Assassin’s Creed is really in Ubisoft’s plans or not, but what is certain on the other hand is that it is not the first time that we hear talk about an Assassin’s Creed remake, and these images only fan the flames.
