Pokémon Scarlet and Purple could accommodate a large number of new Pokémon species to capture. According to the latest leaks, more than a hundred creatures are expected in 9G games.
Since its debut in 1996, the Pokémon series Pokédex has counted more than 900 species hidden throughout the different regions of the saga. Admittedly, not all of them were a resounding success, but this catalog brings together an impressive number of imaginary creatures that allows players to never be satisfied.
The community always wants more and with the Pokémon Scarlet and Purple games, 9G could well reach the symbolic bar of 1,000 Pokémon listed in the National Pokédex.
While we only know about the 3 Starters at the moment, some leaks explain that players can expect a massive roster of new species in next-gen games.

According to youtuber SwitchForce, Pokémon Scarlet and Purple should add more 130 new Pokemon to the franchise. Players might know “one of the greatest new Pokemon selections in a very long time”.
The 9G list update would be comparable to the amount added in 1G, 3G and 5G. This would reinforce the idea that Game Freak is pulling out all the stops to make Pokémon Scarlet and Purple massively new landmark games.
In addition to the rumors about the future Pokédex roster, the YouTuber suggests in his video that the idea of changing your Pokémon’s type might indeed be real. “You’ll be able to somehow change the types of your Pokemon and make them better suited in different battles”did he declare.
Finally, he also adds that 9G games should feature “additional regional forms on top of all these new Pokemon”.
As of now, all of these leaks are unconfirmed by Game Freak. You must therefore take this information “with tweezers” while waiting for the developers to formalize the news.
It is true that a fairly large number of new creatures should delight the community with original species, regional forms and of course the mysterious legendaries.
