The English reality TV show “Rise and Fall”, soon to be broadcast on the private channel Channel 4, is making a lot of noise across the Channel. And for good reason, its concept is surprising: 16 participants are divided into two teams, with on one side the powerful, who live in a sumptuous penthouse, and on the other the workers, in the basement…

This reality show is called Rise and fall. It means “Rise and Fall”. And its concept is very particular. You have 16 participants, who are divided into two teams. On the one hand, you have the powerful, the leaders, who are going to live in a sumptuous penthouse, a luxury apartment on the top floor. They are the ones who make all the decisions.

“Workers” in a position of inferiority

And then on the other, you have the so-called “workers”, who are in a position of inferiority. They live in the basement, in miserable conditions and have to perform grueling tasks. In the rules of the game, it is stated that “the leaders must encourage the workers to always do more, but beware, if they push them too much, they could find themselves toppled from power”. It is therefore a subtle balance to find. This reality TV show will soon arrive on the air in England. And it will be broadcast on Channel 4.
