an exclusive Xbox Series Bioshock creates the surprise!

The Xbox Showcase of this June 11 was rather rich in surprises and this new Bioshock-like game is one of them. Microsoft trusts its studios and seeks to seduce.

It’s in the middle of big announcements that, without warning, Xbox announces the arrival of a homemade Bioshock in its Xbox Showcase. It is the InXile studio, under the aegis of Xbox Studios for a few years now and to whom we owe the Wasteland series in particular, which is at the helm of this new project. Her name, Clockwork Revolution.

The Xbox Series has its own Bioshock

While everyone is impatiently waiting for a Bioshock 4, the genre is starting to see newcomers appear. After an ultra-solid Atomic Heart at the start of the year, an Xbox studio will soon release a serious competitor. Clockwork Revolution strictly respects the recipe for the perfect Bioshock-like. A universe that seems to be stuck in time, an extravagant city where science has exceeded all limits and where men are visibly seeking to cross new ones.

Gifted with the ability to time travel, you are tasked with unlocking the secrets of the Avalon region. A technologically highly advanced metropolis whose most important events in history are said to have been artificially altered. Social class warfare, unilateral wealth sharing, dictatorship… it’s time to put an end to it using the same weapons: time travel. In any case, this is what the synopsis of the game tells us.

The story of Clockwork Revolution takes place in the Victorian metropolis of Avalon. In this city, steam trains fly overhead, wealthy industrialists replace some of their limbs with prosthetic gears, and mechanical servants fulfill the slightest whim of their masters.

But this new age of wonders actually hides a dark secret: it was meticulously created by the ruthless Lady Ironwood. Using a time-traveling device, she has altered key moments in Avalon’s history, keeping the working classes in their factories and hovels, while she grabs wealth and power. This is where you come in…

Clockwork Revolution takes its time

It will therefore be a question of time travel using a sophisticated machine that can impact space-time in different ways. The trailer shows us, for example, that it will be possible to repair destroyed parts of the decor in order to create passages or on the contrary, voluntarily destroy them yourself and then repair your misdeeds. InXile claims to have given everything for this new game which it considers to be the studio’s most ambitious. We only ask to see now.

Clockwork Revolution is expected on Xbox Series and PC, but does not yet have a release date. The game is still in its infancy, but the studio is actively working on it. To be continued.
