It is a sordid story that affected the department of Haute-Garonne, Monday, May 25, 2020. According to the newspaper The South Dispatch, 32-year-old man reportedly charged rape and sexual assault on vulnerable people. The acts were allegedly committed between December 2019 and the end of March 2020, in a center specialized in the reception of people under guardianship and curatorship. Five people filed complaints against the individual, all residents of the center. In this structure, each resident has their own private room, in order to develop their autonomy. The accused, who suffers from schizophrenia, has been treated there for 7 years. According to our colleagues, he would have reduced his salary for several months.
Five complaints have been made against him
The first to file a complaint for sexual touching and rape is a 36-year-old resident. He accuses the man of having brought him to his room to abuse him. A few hours after this first deposition, which occurred on December 17, 2019, it was the accused's former girlfriend who in turn appeared before the gendarmes of the Carbonne Brigade Community. She denounces the same operating mode as the previous victim. She allegedly went to the bedroom of the individual who then forced her to have sex. According to our colleagues, faced with these accusations, the man formally denied the facts and denounced a plot. But a few months later, two other victims, a man and a woman, came to the gendarmerie. Both accuse the individual of having them raped while sleeping. Tuesday, May 26, 2020, the Toulouse public prosecutor decided to open judicial information for rape and sexual assault on vulnerable persons. The man was indicted and placed under judicial supervision. Pending the conclusions of the investigation, he will have to reside in another department.
