An Italian tourist died on Friday after being attacked by a shark in the Colombian archipelago of San Andrés in the Caribbean Sea, according to authorities and local media. The 56-year-old man, identified by the press as Antonio Roseto Degli Abruzzi, was swimming near a cliff when he was bitten by the animal.
“Yes, he is dead,” a senior Navy official who asked not to be named, told AFP. The Teleislas channel specified that the unusual attack took place in an area known as “La Piscinita”, southwest of San Andrés, on the border with Nicaragua.
