The manufacturer ASUS unveils two Nvidia graphics cards with very particular functioning: they do not have a power cable. It is the RTX 4090 and 4070 Ti SUPER which benefit from this new feature.
Those of you who have already built a computer tower themselves know to what extent the cable management is essential. The famous “cable management” which not only allowsoptimize space, but also to obtain a result that does not resemble a dish of spaghetti. Especially when you choose a case with one or more transparent glass walls to admire your work. Some people love this aspect of editing. For the others, ASUS has something for you.
The manufacturer does not hide its desire to offer a cable-free range. This is precisely the particularity of the one which bears the name of BTF. The idea is replace the front connectors on the motherboard with connectors hidden on the back. It is the latter who take care of supply the necessary energy to the components, thereby eliminating power cables. You still need to have something to plug in. So here come two Nvidia graphics cards in a BTF version: the RTX 4090 and the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, now official.

Both models can therefore be connected directly to the motherboard thanks to their special PCIe connector. Of course, the latter must be compatible and the case must be designed for that, which necessarily limits the scope of the product. ASUS is still planning a adapter which attaches to the new PCI Express port on the graphics card to accommodate a cable.
The brand has also launched partnerships with several manufacturers to ensure a number of options. Boxes from the be quiet!, Cooler Master, Aerocool, Corsair, Silverstine, Inwin, Lian Li, Phanteks and Thermalake brands were expected to be released during the first half of 2024.

Aside from the absence of a power cable, the RTX 4090 and 4070 Ti SUPER BTF have a technical sheet similar to their “wired” equivalents. No release date is known at this time. The price of the two graphics cards is also unknown at the moment.
