An open-world Black Panther single-player game is reportedly on the way at Electronic Arts

A Black Panther game way Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order ? It would be a project in development according to the very knowledgeable Jeff Grubb. Discussing in his streaming show “Game Mess Mornings” on Giant Bombs, the man gives us the first information on this title which should be published by Electronic Arts.

Wakanda For consoles and PC?

While Disney has revealed the many films and series of phases 5 and 6 of the “Marvel Cinematic Universe”, we now know that the next film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever will conclude phase 4 on November 9 in theaters. A film that will have a special and emotionally charged atmosphere due to the death of the star actor of the first film, Chadwick Boseman, on August 28, 2020.

According to what Jeff Grubb reveals to us, the adventure of the game will begin precisely at the death of the Black Panther, the player should thus embody his successor. He makes it clear to us that the title will be a solo game, however we will not have to wait for it with a good time since the development would at the present time be fairly in progress.

For now, the game would be codenamed “Project Rainier” in reference to Mount Rainier in Seattle, the city of the last studio opened by EA. Last May, Kevin Stephens (Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor), formerly at Monolith Production, joined this new structure, which is primarily intended to produce open-world action/adventure games.

EA is quite notorious for its contempt for single-player games (again recently with a bad taste joke), but the huge critical and commercial success of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order finally got the better of this state of mind. If confirmed, we’d be very curious to see what the “Middle-earth” Games Overseer could do on a game of the same caliber with the Black Panther license.
