Windows 11 wants you to understand that it should not be installed on PCs that are too old. An update indeed lets a watermark appear on the desktop telling you that your machine is not adapted to the new OS. There is no way to remove it.
To install Windows 11, you must meet certain conditions. Have a not too old processor (two cores clocked at 1 Ghz at least, 4 GB of RAM) and above all a TPM chip for security. As a result, many people found themselves with their beaks in the water and forced the installation by devious means.
Microsoft is not a big fan of this kind of process and wants to make it understood. In a new January update, some Windows 11 22H2 users who snooped for the OS have seen an ugly watermark appear on their desktop.
Windows 11 prefers prevention to cure
Windows Latest specifies that not all users are affected at the moment and that the update is done in waves. It is important to note that this concerns the version retailnot the Insiders beta. The watermark is placed at the bottom right of the screen, just above the taskbar and displays a sober “The system does not meet the conditions for Windows 11”. It cannot be removed. In fact, it does not change the experience. We just have ugly text, but no other limitations. When Windows 11 was released, Microsoft had raised the idea of not updating PCs that had installed the OS in a roundabout way, a project that was finally abandoned. The Redmond firm prefers to do prevention with this system, penalizing no one.

Windows 11 can work perfectly on a system that does not meet the requirements. The purpose of these limitations is to reinforce security, in particular with the physical presence of the TPM chip. Those who do not want to force the installation can still use Windows 10 until 2025but after that, it will be necessary to invest in a new machine.
