It’s official: season 2 of “And Just Like That”, the sequel to “Sex and the City”, will be marked by the great return of Aidan, still played by John Corbett. Discover the first photos of his reunion with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker).
The return that all Sex and the City fans have been waiting for has finally been confirmed!
While the first season of And Just Like That, the eventful sequel to Sex and the City that sees Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis) navigate the complicated waters of middle age, is currently airing in France on TF1, the American streaming platform HBO Max began teasing season 2 this weekend by unveiling some photos of Carrie Bradshaw’s reunion with one of her exes.
As revealed by these unpublished photos, visible in the Instagram post below, the next episodes of the series will be marked by the return of Aidan (John Corbett), the other great love of the heroine, who had had a central place in seasons 3 and 4 of Sex and the City. And then reappeared in the first episode of season 6 and in the second film of the franchise, released in theaters in 2010.
This good news confirms a rumor that had been running for a long time since Deadline revealed last August that John Corbett would appear in several episodes of season 2. A statement that HBO Max then refused to comment on.
In April 2021, several months before the launch of And Just Like That, the interpreter of Aidan himself had confided that he would be part of the first season. But fans were disappointed when they discovered that he ultimately didn’t appear in any of the revival’s first ten episodes.
Asked by TVLine at the time of the broadcast of the finale of season 1 in the United States, screenwriter Julie Rottenberg had assured that a return of Aidan “was never planned” by the authors and by the production. Fortunately, the masterminds of And Just Like That have finally decided to include the character in season 2. And fans are already looking forward to finding out what the future holds for Carrie and Aidan.
Does the fact that we can see them holding hands in the streets of New York mean that the two exes, who had almost got married, are going to give each other a second chance? Will Carrie move on after Big’s death and find love again in Aidan’s arms?
Answer in season 2 of And Just Like That, which should arrive later this year on HBO Max, without further details at this stage.
