In the second season of “And Just Like That…” there will probably be a brief comeback from Kim Cattrall as Samantha.
Kim Cattrall (66) is apparently back! So far it hasn’t looked like she’ll ever appear on the Sex and the City spin-off And Just Like That… but a report by “Variety” now gives fans hope. The industry magazine, citing multiple anonymous sources, reports that Cattrall is reportedly set to get a cameo in the second season of ‘And Just Like That…’.
The actress’ brief appearance was said to have been filmed in New York at the end of March – without the actress of the “Sex and the City” character Samantha Jones speaking to her former colleagues or showrunner Michael Patrick King (68) on site.
While original stars Sarah Jessica Parker (58, Carrie Bradshaw), Cynthia Nixon (57, Miranda Hobbes) and Kristin Davis (58, Charlotte York) appear in both seasons, Cattrall has not been on board. The new story, which also stars Sara Ramírez, 47, Sarita Choudhury, 56, Nicole Ari Parker, 52, Christopher Jackson, 47, Niall Cunningham, 28, and Cathy Ang, 27, among others, has been mostly implemented without the series character of the 66-year-old.
In Germany, the new season can be seen on Sky and the Wow streaming service from June 22nd. The other episodes always appear on Thursdays. In the US, the second season will be shown on the Max streaming service. Neither Max nor a spokesman for Cattrall have confirmed the report.

A return of Samantha seemed impossible so far, even if she and Carrie were in contact at least via text messages in the first season. King had “Variety” then confirmed last summer that this should continue in the new episodes.
Cattrall, meanwhile, has hinted that she’s done with “Sex and the City” and with it “And Just Like That…”. 2022 she declaredthat she hasn’t seen a minute of the new series. “There is great wisdom in knowing when enough is enough,” she said. The way forward seemed clear to them. Now Cattrall may have taken at least a short detour along this path. According to the magazine, Carrie and Samantha are said to be having a phone conversation in the allegedly twisted scene.
