For the second year in a row, Disney + has managed to place (despite itself) one of its series at the top of the ranking of the most pirated series. If, in 2020, it was The Mandalorian which peaked at the top of the charts, ending 7 years of reign of Game Of Thrones, this time it’s the Disney + series WandaVision
who hit the jackpot. The top 10 is also largely occupied by programs dear to Mickey.

WandaVision and Marvel, the big “winners” (losers) of piracy in 2021

The torrent sites have delivered their verdict and named WandaVision as the most pirated series in 2021. Each of the nine episodes of the series worn by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany has been downloaded several million times. But, besides the coronation of WandaVision, the list of the most pirated series in 2021 comes to establish the undivided domination (excuse us for the pun) of the Marvel programs.

Indeed, behind WandaVision, we find Loki
, another Disney + and Marvel series. The antihero is popular and has repeatedly found itself at the top of conversations on social networks, especially during “prime time” hours.

Disney + and Marvel also occupy the 4^e, 5^e and 6^e positions in this ranking of the most pirated series, with respectively Falcon and the Winter Soldier

, which introduces you to the MCU through the prism of anthology and animation. The Disney + series therefore monopolize 5 of the 6 first places. Not a grand slam, but almost.

The witcher, thorn in the side of the Disney + series

The Witcher has resources! The witcher
saves Netflix’s “honor” (we always talk about pirated content) by pointing to 3^e place of the most pirated series this year. Reed Hastings’ platform also places its animated series Arcane
at the 9^e square. Another animated series, Rick and morty (Adult Swim) is also in a good position in the pirated series (8^e) while Foundation

It is interesting to note that the arrival of Disney + on the market for major streaming services has shaken up this “track record”. The platform benefits from an unrelenting notoriety and promising programs struck with exclusivity and stamped Marvel phase 4, which in a way “force” those who want to devour these programs to take out a subscription. All the ingredients, in short, are therefore there to encourage non-subscribers to find means to divert to access the episodes.
