Just in time for this year's Academy Awards in April, Netflix will publish the German contribution "And tomorrow the whole world.

Streaming provider Netflix has secured the rights to the film "And tomorrow the whole world" and will make it available to all subscribers in April of this year. The drama by Julia von Heinz (44) is the German entry that was submitted for the upcoming Academy Awards on April 25 in the category "Best Foreign Language Film".

"And tomorrow the whole world" was selected from ten German applicants. Whether he will actually be nominated for a golden boy has not yet been determined. On February 9, it will be clear whether the drama made it onto the shortlist of the 93rd Academy Awards or not. It was already enough for the preselection of the Golden Globes 2021.

The film premiered at the 2020 Venice Film Festival and was nominated for the Golden Lion. Leading actress Mala Emde (24) received the Bisato d'Oro for best actress. "And tomorrow the whole world" is about the young law student Luisa (Emde), who reacts with horror to the shift to the right in Germany, which has been becoming more and more apparent for several years. She then joins an anti-fascist group, which is becoming increasingly radicalized and does not shy away from violence.
