"And tomorrow the whole world" is no longer in the running for a golden boy: The film did not make it onto the Oscar shortlist.

The film "And tomorrow the whole world" by the director Julia von Heinz (44) is no longer in the Oscar race. The German entry was eliminated from the preselection in the "International Feature Film" category. 93 films initially fought for the "Foreign Language Oscar", the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has now published the shortlist of 15 films for this category, on which "And tomorrow the whole world" can no longer be found.

"And tomorrow the whole world" is expected to be seen on Netflix from April. The film premiered at the 2020 Venice Film Festival. It is about the young law student Luisa (Mala Emde, 24), who reacts with horror to the shift to the right in Germany, which has been becoming more and more apparent for several years. She then joins an anti-fascist group, which is becoming increasingly radicalized and does not shy away from violence.

The Oscar nominations will be announced on March 15th. The presentation of the most important film awards in the world is planned for April 25th.
