Visually, this stands out clearly from past series such as “The Mandalorian”, “The Book of Boba Fett” or the current production “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, after all the story does not play on Tatooine this time, but on various other planets.

“Andor” takes place about four years after “Obi-Wan Kenobi” and five years before “Rogue One”. The first season will consist of 12 episodes and deal with a year in the life of Cassian Andor, while a second season will show the next four years in another 12 episodes, and then connect directly to “Rogue One” with the last scene.

So not only has a second season been officially confirmed, it is now also considered certain that season 2 will also mark the end of “Andor”. Previously there were rumors of three or even five seasons, but the large number of episodes per season may have caused some confusion. So far, “Star Wars” series have only had 6 to 8 episodes per season, so Disney+ could have easily spread the total of 24 episodes of “Andor” over four seasons.

On August 31, 2022, “Andor” will start in the Disney + New Releases program with a double episode. The season finale awaits us on November 9th, so “Star Wars” fans can look forward to many weeks of new stories from the beginnings of the rebellion.
