Andrew Cuomo, the governor of New York, allegedly sexually molested several women, according to an investigation.

An independent investigation has come to the result that New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (63) allegedly molested several women, attorney General Letitia James (62) announced on August 3rd. According to the investigation, there were, among other things, “undesirable and non-consensual touches” and numerous allusions of a sexual nature, “which are said to have created a hostile work environment for women”. She spoke of a “climate of fear”.

At least seven women who are past or current government employees accuse the governor of sexual harassment, as reported by the “New York Times”. The investigation began after several women said Cuomo allegedly sexually molested them.

More than 74,000 pieces of evidence evaluated

179 people were spoken to for the report. More than 74,000 pieces of evidence, including emails, text messages, and pictures, were evaluated. This evidence painted a “deeply disturbing but clear picture,” said the attorney general. According to James, Cuomo groped, kissed, hugged and made sexual innuendos to women.

The investigation brought to light an injustice that could exist “up to the highest levels of government”. “But none of this would have been revealed had these heroic women not come forward.” James thanked both these women for their courage and the independent investigators for their professionalism, even though they had been attacked. Cuomo had previously denied the allegations.
